My First Week at Maltshop: Crystal

Maltshop Marketing, so far, has put a whole new (and somewhat familiar) perspective of what is to come of my skills, goals, and future actions for this job offer. Before dabbling into the learning of SEO content and article writing, I was only used to the creative aspect of the subject. I loved writing research, opinion articles, poetry, and short stories due to always finding a loving comfort. But now that I am expanding my horizons through the art of communications through, what I consider, technical writings I am starting to get the “fuzzy, warm feelings” in this style. This first week has challenged my already punctual time management skills, giving me the strength to learn how to cope with double the stress I am used to from college. Taking the practices and research materials and applying them to ACTUAL websites where REAL people will read my creations is fantastic.

I look forward to being “famous” (just kidding). However, I do plan to develop my skills in SEO content and articles, due to this being my first time even creating these types of works. It will make my resume glitter gold and further educate me on jumping out of my comfort zone and developing new skills. These projects are challenging (in a good way), and I would even want to take it as far as creating websites for future clients/businesses (whenever that will be). I definitely would suggest for interns, mainly focusing on professional writing in the communications field, to dabble in this type of writing. The skill increase that they will develop and decorate that resume to shine bright like a diamond (thanks for the inspiration, RiRi!) Advice coming into this field: be timely, be focused, and be yourself! You can still be creative in a tough assignment, but remember this will be professional for not only you but also for your client’s website. We want everyone happy! And, before I leave it out: always ask for help! No, you are not dumb for the asking. You are empowering! Shine on, superstar.
