Unboxing Tre’s Lunchbox: The Making of a Delicious Concept

We all have gotten the taste of the wondrous world of Tre's Lunchbox, which explores the healthy lifestyle choices and advice for your African-American child. Tre is the superstar of this project and his awesome mom, Desiree, who creates these health-conscious meals for her active toddler. The concoction of this beautiful idea of promoting healthy eating habits took a brilliant mind to think up the picture and a gaggle of bright minds to make this happen! We at MSM stepped in (with Desiree's ideas/concepts, of course!), and creating this project was exciting, challenging, and joyous when the website launch was announced. It took many creative minds working together in harmony to create this excellent website, and of course, Tre's cuteness is all he had to contribute to it!

Now obviously, like every successful project in the decades, every significant creation started as a concept. For Desiree, although extremely passionate about it, this was a side project. It was going to be done through Instagram, where she would simply post pictures of the food she made and Tre eating (as well as other toddler activities). However, she had found these cute bamboo plates of different designs (she had the owl one) and wondered why there were no plates out there that represented black boys and girls. It soon sparked the idea in her head: why not make her own? She put the idea to work by taking what she had already done through the Instagram page and molded it into an eccentric website for all to see.

And alas, where we came into play! Through the help of the fantastic team here at Maltshop Marketing, we could turn a simple idea into an over-the-top excellent website that has since blown up tremendously! Of course, the project was first presented to the masterminds behind Maltshop, Dellanee & Erin; when offered the idea, they got to work on creating a brand new website for the company. They also helped to rebrand Tre's Lunchbox's whole aesthetic, giving it a more natural, authentic, and kid-friendly style feel. Tre's Lunchbox's logo was completely redesigned. A branding board was created to guide the company's team on the type of visuals and inspiration needed to stand out and give a cohesive look. Lastly, Dellanee and Erin helped design and create the packaging design for the bamboo plates, which was their favorite part. They implemented the organic pattern with TLB's color palette and typography, which would give the kids who received these plates a fun and energetic look to enjoy when opening the boxes.

Of course, it wasn't just the brilliant minds of the owners at Maltshop Marketing that helped to implement Desiree's idea and bring it to life, but also the minds of the interns as well:

  1. Tyllor Townsend (Graphic Design & Social Media Intern) created the social media graphics for the launch countdown that Desiree posted on IG and FB before revealing the day.

  2. Andrew Albritton (Motion Design & Marketing Intern) helped create the shirts in her merchandise that would be listed for purchase.

  3. Crystal Burson (Copywriting Intern) helped by writing articles to help with the blogging, SEO (search engine optimization), and educating readers on healthy foods and recipes for their children.

Maltshop Marketing is a proud, determined company where we strive to provide our clients' utmost services. And seeing Desiree's success with Tre's Lunchbox is not only joyous but heartwarming as well. Seeing the happiness and excitement coming from the newcomers visit her website and engage through it brings a good, hearty pat on the back for the whole team. We know that this will be something she will always remember and appreciate, and we hope that we sparked that fire of a new successful business.
